The 34th Annual Conference of the Atlantic Canada Economics Association - Final Report, Halifax, N.S., October 2005
The ACEA Annual Conference provided a forum to: promote economic research by providing a venue for presentation of research results and the wider dissemination of these results through publication of the proceedings following the conference; networking amongst economic researchers in Atlantic Canada by providing an opportunity for researchers from all four Atlantic Provinces to meet and interact with one another; networking across sectors (universities, government, NGOs, private sector) by bringing these different constituencies together in the same place at the same time; and, policy dialogue and discussion of the Atlantic economy through planned sessions and invited speakers from outside the region. The Conference brought together economists in Atlantic Canada from academic institutions, government (four provincial governments plus federal government regional offices), NGOs (e.g., APEC) and the private sector. The theme for the 2005 Conference was "federal-provincial equalization payments and globalization" and was held on October 21 to October 23, 2005
