Are We Urban? The Urban Growth Agenda in the Atlantic Canada Context
ShiftCentral, GHP, 2003
The policy research study entitled "Are We Urban? The Urban Growth Agenda in Atlantic Canada Context" was conducted by ShiftCentral on behalf of The Greater Halifax Partnership. In general, it outlines the scope of the National Urban Agenda and its implications for Atlantic Canada.
The research for this report revealed that cities in Atlantic Canada face different challenges than cities in Canada as a whole. But although Atlantic cities are generally quite small, they fulfil many of the same roles and functions within their regions as the biggest cities in the country.
This policy research is sponsored by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) under the Atlantic Policy Research Initiative, which provides a forum for the analysis of key micro-economic issues in Atlantic Canada. The views expressed in this study do not necessarily reflect the views of ACOA or of the Government of Canada.
