PROVINCIAL AEROSPACE LIMITED DEVELOPING MARKETS WORLD-WIDE

 

August 29, 2008 - St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

Provincial Aerospace Limited (PAL) will now set its sights
on new aerospace and defence opportunities in the United
States, the Middle East, and Latin America thanks to an
investment of more than $323,000 by the Government of
Canada.

The announcement was made today by the Honourable Loyola
Hearn, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, on behalf of the
Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence and
Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).

“This project will enhance the international profile and
competitiveness of PAL in the global aerospace and defence
industry,” said Minister Hearn. “It will also put the
province in a stronger position within a sector that that
presents significant opportunities for long-term success,
here and throughout Atlantic Canada.”

“Our company has had success in a number of countries over
the years,” said Brian Chafe, Executive Vice President,
PAL. “With this support from ACOA we can now focus
primarily on developing new markets in the United States,
the Middle East and Latin America.”

PAL is a growing Newfoundland and Labrador company with
multiple divisions competing for a share of the global
Aerospace and Defence market. In the past 30 years, PAL's
aerospace and aviation division has concentrated on
providing a wide range of special mission aircraft and
airborne surveillance services to military and enforcement
agencies worldwide. The company has conducted significant
business in Canada, the United States, Ireland, Barbados,
Trinidad & Tobago, Mexico, Venezuela, Columbia, Peru, and
the Netherlands.

ACOA funding of $323,625 for this marketing project will be
provided through its Business Development Program.
