Through the Women in Business Initiative (WBI), ACOA provides financial support to not-for-profit business organizations in Atlantic Canada to offer women business owners the resources they need to grow their businesses and compete. Activities funded under the WBI can help women business owners across Atlantic Canada to:
- access the right business advice, information and support;
- improve their skills and business network;
- improve their access to financing;
- obtain expert advice; and
- identify ways to enhance their innovation or export capacity.
To be eligible to access these services, normally the woman or women must have 51% ownership and operating control of the business.
